Seminar Qa05e

Aiming to convey an understanding of how children and adolescents learn, and how
this process is dependent on the human development, this seminar covers the basics
of learning and developmental psychology. Additionally, the participants will learn
about the different stages of human development as well as the different levels of
motivation.

Competencies

The participant
  • Learn about the different development theories and know how to distinguish between them
  • Know how cognitive development affects the learning of students
  • Get to know the different stages of development and the age ranges of the human being
  • Learn about motivation levels and how to motivate students
  • Deal with learning theories and cognitive development

  • Learning during the different stages of development
  • Basics of learning and developmental psychology
  • Learning and teaching
  • Theoretical foundations of an understanding of learning (behavioural and cognitive learning theories)
  • Motivation (e.g. Maslow´s hierarchy of needs)
  • Stages of development – age ranges (according to Erikson)
  • Social contexts of development (according to Bronfenbrenner)
